more than just a card…

THE NATURE COLLECTION

Caladium aka Elephant Ear

This plant’s striking design, in vivid, contrasting red and green, give it a bit of a holiday look. This is the first Caladium plant I ever photographed.

Tree Story | Fits 5x7 Frame

Anchored

Trees are so fascinating. I don’t hug them although I do greatly appreciate them! From them, we learn that to weather storms, our roots must run deep...We must be well anchored to a nourishing, growth promoting source to weather fierce, storms which can threaten and even destroy the sturdiest of trees.

In my travels, I once passed an area which had been decimated by a freak storm of epic proportions, a couple of days earlier, and surprisingly found myself very emotional at the sight of such extensive nature devastation. Seeing so many felled trees, as far as the eye could see, was so overwhelming…realizing how long it would take for them to grow back…(30-35 years on average for an oak tree, in case you were wondering). We are so connected to and by nature, by design. Imagine a world without trees…I can’t either. I could have called this card Thanksgiving Tree because that’s the day on which I photographed it.

“It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters.” Ezekiel 31:7

“To exist as a nation, to prosper as a state, and to live as a people, we must have trees.” Theodore Roosevelt

Rainy Day Magnolia Leaf

Rainy Day Magnolia Leaf | Fits 5x7 Frame

Resilience

Have you ever seen such a majestic leaf? Pretty impressive, if you ask me! Oh, that we would only let life’s petty annoyances and inconveniences roll off our backs the way this Magnolia leaf shrugs off rain drops! They’re not getting in…not a chance!

Majestic Mallard

Tranquility

Take a deep breath, fix your gaze on something beautiful and inspiring…Count your blessings…Stay there a while. The little white spots on the duck’s reflections are from the gravel just beneath the shallow water it is standing in. I would prefer a solid, uniform reflection. May work on it to that end, or leave it as is, now that you’ve got the scoop! :)

Coleus Blue

As common and abundant a plant as it may be, the Coleus is so very special, beginning with its gorgeous design and texture. Originally green with a brown reddish center, I outfitted this one in blue and orange. Makes a great wall or desk décor option. Kind or reminds me of a beautiful butterfly…

Fall Foliage

Raindrops on these Fall leaves make this card quite a reflective and refreshing focal point. It’s blank so you can use it for a variety of occasions including Thank You, Thanksgiving, Thinking of You, etc.

Peruvian Lilies/Alstroemeria

Alstroemeria

While dainty, delicate and beautiful, these Peruvian Lilies or Alstroemeria are also pretty hardy and last quite a while as a bouquet and even longer on this card, the best part being that you or the person you give it to won’t even have to water them! Perfect as a “Thank you”, “Get Well” or “Encouragement” card. The photograph is a signed art collectible, mounted on antique pink card stock and comes with a matching envelope.

Persian Shield

Persian Shield

Persian Shield

This gorgeous Persian Shield, scientifically known as Strobilanthes dyerianus, is native to Myanmar, other parts of Asia and Madagascar. I colorized it and mounted it on black cardstock for contrast and effect. This card is not for sale.

Marvelous Coleus

Coleus

Beauty can be found in the most common of plants as in this Coleus which I have named “marvelous” due to its astonishing symmetry and coloring. This card, created with a photograph of my first Coleus encounter, is well suited for many occasions and particularly as a “Get Well” or “Encouragement” card. Makes a great focal point and stress reducer. That’s right! Scientific research has concluded that green plants even if only on paper, have a regenerative impact on our health. So buy a card for everyone you know and I’ll take care of giving one away to someone in need of healing or cheering up, for each one you buy! A win win!!
