New Dawn
One of the most amazing sculptures I have ever seen, which I photographed at an angle so “Brick House” by Simone Leigh could be on par with the height of the surrounding buildings. This sculpture was so inspiring and encouraging to me the very moment I set my eyes on it, very early, one Saturday morning, hence “New Dawn”, the name I gave my composition. The whole ensemble of sculpture, beaming sun and urban setting, spoke to me on many different levels and also as a sculptor on pause (and what a very long pause it’s been). I also love the way the sunlit building on the left look like some kind of mythical city…

The Perfect Card for someone needing a little encouragement to reach just a little higher or to get back in the saddle after a disappointment or under the weight of discouragement. Great card for a business woman starting out…Just a thought…You really can make someone’s day with this original card as a wonderful starting point. I probably did not have to write “Rise” on it but then again, it’s ok, not to self, every day!! May be I will also do a blank version of this card…Sitting under this magnificent work of art was interesting and happening upon it in the first place was…a very nice surprise! Imagine a metropolis like New York City without art…
